Meet Our Psychologists

Helping children heal takes more than a safe place to live. It takes people who understand each child’s experiences and can help them process those experiences in healthy ways.

Casa Bernabé currently has three psychologists providing therapy to children on campus. Grecia, who also leads our interdisciplinary team, works with our older girls. Pedro meets with our older boys, and Keily, who previously served in our Vocational Program, joined the psychology team in January and works with our youngest children.

Each psychologist creates individualized therapy plans. Some children meet weekly, while others meet every two weeks or monthly, depending on their needs. They also document the strategies they use, track what is working, and adjust their approach as needed.

Our psychologists have comfortable offices where the kids feel at ease and can open up and share what's on their mind. They frequently use play therapy, art therapy, and utilize our sensory room to help the children articulate feelings and experiences they may not have words to describe.

Our psychologists also partner closely with the house parents, offering guidance and practical strategies to help them support individual children in their homes.

Therapy is just one part of helping our children heal. By working together, our psychologists and house parents provide consistent, individualized care that helps each child grow and heal.
