Meet the Casa Bernabé Worship Team
Every Sunday morning, before the sermon begins, the Casa Bernabé family gathers to worship together.
Our worship team is led by two of our house dads, Leonel and Danny, who alternate leading worship each weekend. Both are gifted musicians who prayerfully select the songs for each service before finalizing the order with our pastors.
A typical Sunday begins with several joyful songs of praise that celebrate God's faithfulness. The service then transitions into songs of adoration that invite the church to quietly reflect on God's holiness, goodness, and character.
While the style of worship varies from week to week, the heart behind it never changes. When Leonel leads, he typically sings alongside our pastor's wife, Ruth, and daughter, Annelize, using accompaniment tracks. When Danny leads, he is often joined by his wife, Nancy, while he plays the piano, and occasionally our social worker, Grecia, joins them on the drums. From time to time, local churches also bless our congregation by sending guest worship leaders to serve on a Sunday morning.
But ask our pastors what makes worship meaningful, and they won't point to the instruments or the voices.
At Casa Bernabé, worship is first and foremost about hearts surrendered to the Lord. Music simply gives us the opportunity to respond together in gratitude, declaring who God is and all He has done.
