Rain couldn't keep the Casa Bernabé community away! Our annual 5K fundraiser in Guatemala brought together local families, churches, and supporters for a morning of running, cheering, and celebrating the ministry of Casa Bernabé.
Thanks to all of you who sponsored our 171 children and staff members, everyone living and working on campus was able to participate. That was especially meaningful because the race is about more than running. It's an opportunity for our entire Casa Bernabé family to take part in a challenge together.
Despite the rainy weather, we had a great turnout, and the kids had a wonderful time. Casa Hosana even won a prize as one of the fastest families to finish the race! Edgar and Pastor Christian shared with the crowd, and we were especially grateful to welcome Guatemala's Central Adoption Authority (CNA). The CNA Director came with his team and hosted a table with adoption information for families attending the event. Edgar and Pastor Christian also spoke about the importance of adoption, giving us an opportunity to share that message with Christian families from local churches.
This year was significant because it was the first time since COVID that Casa Bernabé had overseen the entire event. Our team secured sponsors in Guatemala to cover all the costs of putting on the race, meaning every dollar raised through ticket sales goes directly to Casa Bernabé. We sold 758 tickets toward our goal of 1,000, and we're grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored a participant, bought a ticket, came out in the rain, or helped make the race possible. Your support gave every child and staff member a place at the starting line and made this special day possible for our whole campus.
Mark your calendars! The next Casa Bernabé 5K will take place on October 3, 2027.
