The Furry (and Feathered) Members of the Casa Bernabé Family
One thing that often surprises visitors to Casa Bernabé is just how many animals call our campus home!
Scattered throughout the children's homes and staff housing are beloved pets who have become part of the family. Numa, our pastors' energetic dog, is famous for chasing soccer balls with the boys. Casa David has a playful dog named Dori, while Casa Hosana is home to Dori's mom, Molli, along with a bunny named Cherry.
Casa Alabanza has a big chocolate Lab named Mylo, and Casa Ester cares for a turtle and several hamsters. Around our staff apartments, you'll also find Loki and Botas, two well-loved cats who happily keep everyone company.
Beyond the family pets, the campus is also home to parrots, doves, a chicken coop filled with chickens, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits, as well as Tony's pigs and even a tilapia farm.
These animals bring so much joy to the children. Whether it's throwing a ball for a dog, feeding the rabbits, watching the ducks waddle by, or cuddling a cat after school, caring for animals creates joy, responsibility, and comfort.
