Meet the Friends of Casa Bernabé Communications Team

While many people have contributed stories, photos, and ideas to our newsletters and social media communications over the past year and a half, there are five core team members who help make the updates happen each week.

Julia Amstutz, Treasurer on the Friends of Children Everywhere Board of Directors, serves as the strategist of the group. She helps map out our yearly communication calendar and guides the planning for what stories and topics we’ll share each month.

Sara Salguero contributes both to the planning process and content creation as our resident expert on all things Casa Bernabé. No matter the topic or question, Sara is our go-to source of knowledge and insight.

Evelyn Ruano, who oversees Public Relations and Resource Management for the Development Team at Casa Bernabé, is our campus photographer and visual storyteller. She faithfully documents life at CB by attending events, capturing countless photos, and sharing them both with us and on Casa Bernabé Guatemala’s social media pages.

Marleigh Beaker, our Onsite Missionary Coordinator, is the story-gathering whiz of the team. Each week, she connects with staff and children involved in that week’s featured topic, conducts interviews, takes photos, and uncovers the details that bring each story to life.

Then Marleigh and Evelyn send everything to me, Emily Tuttle, FOCB Board Chair. I compile the stories and photos, write the weekly newsletters, and create the accompanying social media posts. I’ve previously worked in content creation for other nonprofits, and it’s been a joy to use those skills in service of the organization I love most.

If there’s ever a topic you’d like to learn more about at Casa Bernabé, we’d love to hear from you! We are constantly working to improve our communication and storytelling, and we deeply believe in the story God is writing in each child’s life at Casa Bernabé. Thank you for being part of those stories by reading and following along each week.
