Exciting News: We Have a New Name!
(Written in January 2026)
As of today, Friends of Children Everywhere is now officially called Friends of Casa Bernabé (FOCB)! Along with a new name, you’ll begin to see a new logo and refreshed look that better reflects who we are and who we serve.
While our name has changed, our heart and mission remain exactly the same: to support, sustain, and grow Casa Bernabé in Guatemala for the glory of God and the care of vulnerable children and families.
(After you read about our heart and hopes behind the name change, be sure to check out the FAQ section at the bottom of this page to see how this affects donations and communications moving forward.)
Why the Change? Over the years, the name Friends of Children Everywhere has often caused confusion. It sounds as if we support children all over the world, when in reality our focus has always been clear and unwavering: Casa Bernabé in Guatemala.
When you give, pray, send teams, and partner with us, 94% of your support goes directly to Casa Bernabé programming—its children’s home, school, church, medical clinic, and outreach to the surrounding community—and only 6% supports operations and fundraising in the U.S. via Friends of Casa Bernabé. We are not seeking to expand into supporting other organizations. Our calling is here, and our commitment is strong. This new name simply makes that relationship easier to understand.
God has been faithful to Casa Bernabé for over 40 years, and the ministry continues to mature and grow. Today, Casa Bernabé reaches far beyond the children’s home through:
The school that serves all the on-campus kids and over 250 kids from the local area
The medical and dental clinic that meets the needs of so many people in our community who could not afford quality care otherwise
A transition program for young people as they age out
The Families United program, supporting children reunified with biological families
A growing church and community outreach to better serve our neighbors
There is still so much potential for growth right here. We have big dreams for how God will continue to expand His work through Casa Bernabé—serving more children, strengthening families, and shining Christ’s light throughout the surrounding community.
Our new name reflects what we already believe: God’s impact through Casa Bernabé reaches far beyond its walls, and He is still writing the story.
Casa Bernabé Ministries is supported through two closely connected entities:
FUNPRONI in Guatemala, which oversees all legal and operational aspects of Casa Bernabé.
Friends of Casa Bernabé (FOCB) in the U.S., which raises funds, sends teams and missionaries, and provides a safe, accountable way for U.S. donors to give. You can meet the FOCB Board of Directors HERE.
Together, through a Joint Ministry Agreement, both Boards work hand-in-hand to protect, guide, and strengthen Casa Bernabé. About 70% of funding comes through the generous partners of Friends of Casa Bernabé, 10% comes through in-kind donations, and the remaining 20% is now raised locally in Guatemala—a beautiful sign of growing national ownership and engagement.
Renaming our U.S. organization Friends of Casa Bernabé reflects our unity, trust, and shared commitment to this ministry.
In December 2025, we set an ambitious fundraising goal of $100,000, and by God’s grace and your generosity, we surpassed our target! This outpouring of support is a powerful reminder that the Lord continues to faithfully provide for Casa Bernabé through His people.
We begin 2026 on solid financial footing, making meeting our monthly budget of $61,000 more attainable. Right now, about 64% of our monthly operating budget is covered by committed recurring monthly giving. That consistent support allows us to focus on growing that percentage even more, so we can not only sustain the ministry, but also begin setting aside resources for some exciting expansion projects God is placing on the horizon.
We are deeply thankful for each of you who give faithfully, pray consistently, and believe in what God is doing at Casa Bernabé.
With a new name comes a new visual identity. Today, we are officially retiring the Friends of Children Everywhere logo and unveiling our new Friends of Casa Bernabé logo. We have always displayed the FOCE logo side by side with the Casa Bernabé logo.
If you have sharp eyes, you may have already spotted our new Friends of Casa Bernabé logo on social media this week! Our refreshed look is meant to better reflect the heart, unity, and focus of this ministry, and to clearly connect every part of our work back to Casa Bernabé.
You’ll also notice the name of our Facebook page changed from Casa Bernabé Ministries/Friends of Children Everywhere to Friends of Casa Bernabé. You can still find us on Instagram with the handle @casabernabe. We're also on YouTube as Friends of Casa Bernabé.
Our updated website url is www.friendsofcasabernabe.org We invite you to explore and share it with others who may want to partner with what God is doing through Casa Bernabé.
We are deeply grateful for your prayers, generosity, and trust. Your partnership allows Casa Bernabé to be a place of refuge, healing, education, and hope in Guatemala.
Thank you for walking with us into this next chapter as Friends of Casa Bernabé—same mission, same heart, same commitment, and great expectation for what God will do next.
We've tried our best to anticipate most of the potential questions regarding how this change affects donations and communication:
1. Can I still give via checks made out to Friends of Children Everywhere?
- Yes, for the time being, we can still process checks with the old name, but in the future we would love for all checks to be made out to Friends of Casa Bernabé.
2. Has the tax identification number (EIN) changed?
- No, our EIN is still 56-2467177
3. Are your email addresses changing?
- Over the next week, we’ll be updating all our existing email addresses to end in @friendsofcasabernabe.org, so next week’s newsletter will be coming from info@friendsofcasabernabe.org. In the future, the old @foce.org email addresses will continue forwarding to our new emails, but replies will be sent from the new email addresses. Please add our new emails to your contacts.
4. Will www.foce.org still work?
- Yes, the old url automatically forwards to the new one, so if you’ve shared links to our site with friends, they’ll still be able to find us. The new website is officially www.friendsofcasabernabe.org
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reply to this email and one of our Board members will assist you!
