Casa Nueva Esperanza
To be fully funded monthly, each of our houses needs one House Sponsor ($2,000/month) and 12 Child and Family Sponsors ($120/month each). Casa Nueva Esperanza currently has a House Sponsor but is in need of additional Child and Family Sponsors. To see how close Casa Nueva Esperanza is to reaching full funding from Child and Family Sponsors, check the progress bar below.
The house parents of Casa Nueva Esperanza are Mario and Alejandra, along with their three-year-old son, Ian. Mario continues to serve as the head of our Vocational and Transition Programs, while Alejandra also serves as the secretary in our clinic.
Mario and Alejandra navigate life with nine teenage boys with patience, creativity, and joy. They love playing board games with the boys and hosting movie nights together. Mario has also been taking some of the boys to the woodshop and teaching them to build and repair furniture.
Together, Mario and Alejandra consistently find intentional and creative ways to deepen their relationships with each of the boys in the house. One of the boys, JuanJo, has stepped into a new role this year after recently graduating and turning 18. He now serves Casa Nueva Esperanza as the house helper, offering leadership and support to the younger boys.
The boys in this house range from 13 to 18 years old and especially enjoy playing video games. They’ve also become very competitive in marbles, basketball, and soccer. Some of the boys love spending time at the picnic table with Ian, playing with Legos or his Paw Patrol toys. Laughter fills this house, and the boys are constantly joking and finding reasons to laugh together.
This year marks an important transition for several of the boys as Casa Nueva Esperanza celebrated three high school graduates last year. Each of these young men will be stepping into new roles on campus as they begin the next season of their lives.
